Pebble, the smartwatch brand known for its innovative designs, has introduced the Pebble Round 2, marking a significant update since the release of the original Pebble Time Round 11 years ago. This new model aims to appeal to both longtime Pebble users and those new to the brand.
Compared to its predecessor, the Pebble Round 2 is slightly thicker, measuring 0.6 mm more than the original. Despite this increase in thickness, it provides an impressive ten days of battery life and features a 1.3-inch e-paper display, which enhances the readability of notifications and messages.
The design focus of the Pebble Round 2 prioritizes style and elegance over extensive fitness tracking features. While it does offer basic health monitoring options such as sleep tracking and step counting, it is not aimed at users seeking advanced exercise tracking capabilities. Pebble CEO Eric Migicovsky emphasized that the watch was developed to feel more like a classic timepiece than a technological device, stating, “We wanted it to be the most stylish, elegant Pebble ever.”
Pre-orders for the Pebble Round 2 are currently available to interested buyers.
