Devin Haney has emerged victorious in a recent court ruling, as a Los Angeles judge denied his ex-fiancée Leena Sayed’s request to post pictures of their one-year-old child on social media without his consent.

Quick context

The decision comes after Sayed filed a motion aiming to modify their parenting agreement, seeking the ability to share images of their child, Khrome, on her social media platforms. However, Judge Hank Goldberg sided with Haney, reinforcing the existing agreement that prioritizes the child’s privacy.

Judicial reasoning

Judge Goldberg articulated his position by stating, “There is no argument as to why a one-year-old child would benefit from being exposed to the public and a subject of social media attention.” He emphasized the importance of shielding children of celebrity parents from the potential perils of the public eye, given numerous instances where such exposure has led to negative consequences.

Guidelines for social media posts

While the ruling prohibits Sayed from posting her child’s images, it does allow for the posting of photographs as long as the child is not visible. The judge noted that Sayed could still share the experience of the child’s birthday parties or similar events without directly showcasing the child in her posts.

The legal arguments surrounding this case included assertions from Haney’s legal team that Sayed’s career on OnlyFans posed additional concerns about the type of audience her content attracted. Haney’s lawyers claimed that her social media presence could impact the child’s welfare, stating that “Leena’s self-objectification and encouragement of sexual fantasies via her postings on OnlyFans and on Instagram means that some of her internet ‘followers’ do not follow her because of her motherhood.”

Both sides presented competent counsel during the proceedings, and there were no allegations of duress or undue influence in the parenting agreement. Thus, the court’s decision to uphold it was made with careful consideration of the child’s best interest.
