“I need them to be clean, so they don’t clog up my pores or make my skin have a bad reaction,” Cook explained to E! “We’re wearing obviously all the Nomex fireproof [suit], and we’re in the car for a long period of time. We’re sweating a bunch. I definitely will break out more if that happens.”

“It is okay to be feminine in this space,” she said. “Seeing other female drivers really helped me embrace it more myself and not feel like I needed to hide it or feel guilty about it. Being a bit feminine doesn’t mean that I’m not taking racing just as seriously.”
“I just want to look nice and feel nice,” Cook continued, “and I don’t need you to tell me about it or comment on it. I just want to exist in my space.”
