As the Tampa Bay Rays gear up for the 2026 season, spring training is on the horizon and excitement is building among fans. Their official invitees list features several top prospects that are expected to make a significant impact this season.

Brody Hopkins Takes Center Stage

The standout on the invitees list is right-handed pitcher Brody Hopkins. Acquired in the notable Randy Arozarena trade with the Seattle Mariners, Hopkins is being hailed as the top pitching prospect in the Rays organization. Following a strong season at Double-A Montgomery, where he posted a 2.72 ERA and a remarkable 28.7% strikeout rate over 116 innings, he is projected to start the year with Triple-A Durham.

Exciting Young Talents

Joining Hopkins are several other promising names, including Ty Johnson, another highly regarded pitcher acquired from the Chicago Cubs. Johnson had a standout 2025 season, establishing himself as one of the most productive pitchers in the minor leagues. He will be joined by fellow hurlers TJ Nichols, Luis Guerrero, Trevor Martin, Austin Vernon, Andrew Wantz, Kodi Whitley, Logan Workman, Cam Booser, John Rooney, Chase Solesky, and Jake Woodford.

Notable Positional Prospects

The Rays are also bringing attention to their positional player prospects, featuring first baseman Xavier Isaac and first baseman/outfielder Tre’ Morgan. Isaac is making a triumphant return after his 2025 season was interrupted by brain surgery, making his presence on the field all the more significant. Meanwhile, Morgan, known for his elite defensive skills and speed, is making a strong case for a Major League promotion with a solid performance in spring training.

Veteran Presence

The invitees list also includes veteran catcher Blake Sabol, along with Logan Driscoll, Tatem Levins, and Kenny Piper. The infield features Logan Davidson, Raynel Delgado, Gregory Barrios, and Cooper Kinney. Additionally, the only outfielder on the invitees list is Edward Olivares.

As the Rays prepare for spring training at Charlotte Sports Park in Port Charlotte, Florida, fans are eagerly anticipating seeing these top prospects and established players develop as they approach the regular season.
