Method
- Pat pork shoulder dry. Rub BBQ spice mix over entire surface.
- Place pork fat-cap-up in slow cooker. Pour root beer around meat. Cover and cook LOW 8 to 10 hours.
- Remove pork to bowl. Discard bone and large fat pieces. Shred with two forks.
- Return shredded meat to slow cooker with half the cooking liquid and BBQ sauce. Stir and rest 15 minutes.
